Guatemala - Hunapu

Regular price $16.00 Sale

Antigua Hunapu is the name given to a blend created by hundreds of small holder farmers who sell their cherries to the Bella Vista mill.  The coffee is milled at the Bella Vista under the management of the Zeyala family, headed by Luis Pedro Zeyala Zamora.

The Hunapu, or Mountain Flower project was developed by the Zeyala family to include small lot farmers 1 to 4 acres in size just outside of Antigua. This blend is categorized by day lots.

Antigua Hunapu coffees are divided into different lots:

  1. Numbered lots representing different days the cherries were delivered to the Bella Vista mill.
  2. Geographic lots comprised of coffees blended from producers in specific geographic locations in the region. ex: Hunapu CV is from Ciudad Vieja
  3. Varietal lots are made from coffees sourced from the entire region, or a specific region, of just one variety. ex. Hunapu Bourbon is made up of only bourbon varietals.

Taste: This Antigua Hunapu blend is heavy in chocolate notes and great for an espresso or a French press.
